Make Music Cyprus has built its own distinct journey over the years, evolving from a local initiative in Nicosia into one of the most vibrant and open music festivals in Cyprus. Starting in 2019 as Make Music Nicosia, the festival introduced the spirit of Make Music Day to the streets of the city for the first time. Although the first edition took place on a small scale, it received recognition from the International Committee, which described Nicosia as a “landmark city.”

From that point on, each year became a new chapter: from adapting to the conditions of the pandemic and transitioning online, to returning to the streets, expanding dynamically, and gradually extending its geographical reach. From just a few music spots and dozens of artists, the festival has grown to host hundreds of participants and activate entire neighborhoods, transforming the city into an open stage.

To date, it has hosted 1667 artists from 17 different nationalities, alongside the invaluable contribution of more than 200 volunteers who support and shape the festival each year.

Today, Make Music Cyprus is a living community of artists, volunteers, visitors, partners, and professionals, continuously redefining the relationship between music and public space.
